Certification

Podcast Audio and Video Editor (PAVE)

What is the PAVE Certification?

The Podcast Audio and Video Editor (PAVE) Certification is awarded to those who successfully complete our Video Podcast EditLab program. We launched EditLab in 2022 to address the market gap in finding editors highly skilled in both audio and video production. Previously, it was challenging to find editors proficient in both areas for our projects and our clients' projects.

Podcasting has evolved from an audio-only medium to a rich source of content, especially with the addition of video. Now, podcast editors are expected to excel in both audio and video editing to meet the growing demands of creators who want to venture into video podcast production.

This evolution is excellent news for aspiring podcast editors. Being trained in both audio and video production not only opens up numerous opportunities but also allows them to command higher rates. The PAVE Certification acknowledges that our graduates have completed over 120 hours of training using some of the leading tools in audio and video production and have successfully worked on a real project.

PAVE certification validates that you’re highly skilled in:

  • Video Editing: Proficiency in techniques like multi-camera switching, visual effects, text animations, captions, transitions, skin softening, and color correction using tools like Adobe Premier, Audition, Descript, CapCut, and a collection of 3rd party plugins.

  • Audio Production: Advanced skills in audio production and engineering, including tools like compression, EQ, De-Essing, noise gates, noise reduction, and De-reverb using tools like Audition, Reaper, and Waves Professional Audio Plugins.

  • Transcript Editing: Using Descript.

  • Content Repurposing: Ability to create blog posts, newsletters, descriptions, and titles and offer administrative support.

  • Client-Centric Approach: Training to become an integral part of the client's vision and project, ensuring the client achieves both their podcast and business goals.

Podcasting is evolving into a medium of audio and video, generating demand for editors who excel at both.
